Magnificent neo-Renaissance villa in Tomaszów Mazowiecki

Representative villa of the cloth manufacturer Moritz Piesch in the center of Tomaszów Mazowiecki south of the city of Łódź. The large villa with a magnificent neo-Renaissance facade is located at ul. 32 Barlickiego Street opposite the shopping center.

Piesch was an Austrian immigrant. He became one of the town's largest employers at the beginning of the 20th century with his dye works founded in 1874 and the later-built match factory, employing over 1,000 people in total. He was also a respected social entrepreneur, supporting the construction of hospitals, schools, and churches. His grave and memorial can be found in the town's Protestant cemetery.
